The artist looks to the worlds of bedroom pop, R&B, rock and even gospel for his latest tune as he refuses to be defined by genres, meaning that listeners can indulge in the irresistibly unique sounds dreamed up by the artist. And, with messaging on the temporary nature of life at the song’s core, the heavenly and melodic nature of Matthews’ vocals gain a poetic depth.

“The song is about the feeling of freedom that comes when you don’t attach yourself to the things around you, allowing yourself to experience people and things without feeling threatened by the idea of not having it forever,” explains the artist when discussing the meaning behind his latest song. “Things in your life are always going to come and go, and this song is dedicated to being completely present in each moment.”
