Set against a towering display of industrial scaffolding in the heart of Seoul, the show was a steel dreamland where the fantasies of hypebeasts and fangirls alike blossomed into a reality. The mega boyband could be seen sporting suave jackets and motif-adorned cases from the original collection revealed in January 2021 in the Jeon Go-woon-directed video as the increasingly relevant themes of movement, space and connectivity prevailed. Subtly injected messaging could be found in the model’s and band’s meticulously planned delivery, making the show all the more powerful.

With 34 new looks filling out the collection, Abloh’s nod to his previous “The Voyage” display is evident in the wild array of travel-inspired striped suits and fedora-esque hats meeting grassy green fur-trimmed hoods and eyewear akin to ski sunglasses. Harking on the brand’s core values of diversity and a celebration of culture, the collection perfectly captures the societal desperation for exploration and gave us our first taste of the adventures and trends set to fill the nearing post-covid era.
