After what feels like years of Lil Nas X supremacy, the release of countless iconic singles and TL-shattering performances, it can be said that the reigning king of modern music has been gearing up for the drop of his debut album for quite some time. And now, in a bid to finally give his 8.5 million followers the news they have been eagerly awaiting, Lil Nas X has taken to Instagram to let people know that his debut album Montero is officially “coming soon” –  in the most iconic way possible, we might add.

In true Lil Nas X style, the reveal of his first fully-formed project was anything but conventional as the “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” singer unveiled a dramatic Marvel Studios-inspired trailer to break the exciting news. As flashing scenes of the singer’s already-infamous past eras, including nods to his beginnings with “Old Town Road”, fill the screen, fans can see bold lettering confirm that new music will be dropping soon. And as trumpets start to blare, a tiny snippet of what appears to be a track hacked from the album begins to play, allowing the anticipation to reach unbearable levels.

While there is sadly no official date for the album drop, fan speculation is pointing towards a summer release. So, rest assured in the knowledge that plenty of new Lil Nas X content is on the horizon.
