Mother Monster celebrated 10 years of her legendary Born This Way album in West Hollywood this weekend.
As per Cock Destroyer Rebecca More, Sunday’s are supposed to be a day of rest, but not for Lady Gaga.
The monstrous pop entity, who’s currently filming a biopic on the life of the Gucci family alongside Adam Driver, took time out of her schedule to put her paws up with Little Monsters in West Hollywood in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of Born This Way.
It’s almost hard to believe it’s been an entire decade since the stars’ silicon-cocoon emerging antics, epic cinematic music videos alongside the likes of Zombie Boy, and even the inception of her Drag King alter ego, Joe Calderone. Where has the time gone? Since then, the star has birthed four new albums, and recently revealed plans for a remix project that may or may not feature the likes of Charli XCX and Rina Sawayama.

“Born This Way, my song and album, were inspired by Carl Bean, a gay black religious activist who preached, sung and wrote about being ‘Born This Way.” Notably his early work was in 1975, 11 years before I was born,” Gaga shared on Twitter. “Thank you for decades of relentless love, bravery, and a reason to sing. So we can all feel joy, because we deserve joy. Because we deserve the right to inspire tolerance, acceptance, and freedom for all.”
To mark the momentous occasion, the singer was awarded a key to We-Ho, LA’s gay capital, by mayor Lindsey P. Horvath. The city has gone as far as dubbing the occasion ‘Born This Way Day’, a holiday to be celebrated every year on May 23rd. We’re kind hoping Bo-Jo does the same thing here, a national holiday in lieu of Gaga’s work for the queer community would be quite the vibe…

Elsewhere, New York’s Spotify billboard was all things Gaga for the weekend, with select Urban Outfitters stores offering a slew of anniversary merch too. Some lucky LA bar-goers even got to drink it up with Mother Monster herself over the weekend. We can only imagine how many shots she powered through, celebrating in style with one of her signature heavy eye-looks of the early 2010s. God, all this nostalgia is just killing us!
Happy belated Born This Way day gays and girls. Put your mother ‘effin paws up!
