Björk and her daughter Ísadóra Bjarkardóttir Barney are rumoured to have joined the cast of Robert Eggers’ The Northman, and as per usual, film twitter has gone totally nuts.
Filming for the production was set to begin just a week before the entire world locked down, owing to the fast-spreading COVID-19 virus. But after a few quiet months, a series of Instagram Stories posted by a trainer on the film suggests things are back on track.

Set in 10th century Iceland, The Northman follows Nordic prince Alexander Skarsgård as he seeks vengeance for his father’s death. If the rumours are true, the trailblazing Icelandic icon will join both of the Skarsgård bros, Wonderland cover star Anya Taylor-Joy, Daddy de-, I mean Willam Defoe, and our favourite Aussie powerhouse (right behind Kylie Minogue) Nicole Kidman on the star-studded production.
With folk on twitter have lauding the film “a cultural reset” and “a victory for the lgbtq+ community”, we certainly have high hopes, and can only pray Robert Eggers peppers the production with a shit-load of Post-era Bjork tunes.
