For now, the world has ground to a halt on its axis. And one industry that has certainly felt the devastation of the coronavirus pandemic is the music biz, with the ongoing lockdown meaning that we’ve hit pause on any festivals, tours and records. *Sobs*

But one musician ploughing through it all, dedicated to swiftly adapting to the crisis, has been Charli XCX, who has already curated her own calendar of Instagram isolation live streams to the glee of her fans.

And now in a Zoom meeting for 1,000 fans this week, the artist has announced that she will be making and releasing a full album during this period of social distancing. Following up from her third studio album last year, Charli, this fourth album will drop on 15 May, and be very aptly titled How I’m Feeling Now – rumoured to have a raw, DIY feel, indicative of the times.
