Korean born and raised, Hyun-min Han explained in an interview that the origin of his brand name ‘MÜNN’ stemmed from the German pronunciation of his name Min. He credits the German way of life for his reinventing designs that won him the 2016/17 International Woolmark Prize for Asia, and his brand objective of creating for the modern-day minimalism with an emotional honesty is present in his latest collection.

In a few short years (seven to be precise), MÜNN has provided crowds with immense entertainment on the runways with his reconstruction of masculinity, and his latest efforts prove he’s nowhere near finished yet.

Hyun-min gave us the utopian version of uniforms, monotone palettes were the base but the details gave it the colour and deep emotion he so wanted to include. Buttoned-up shirts were paired with oversized knits and harem pants. Floral printed blanket coats were thrown over white turtlenecks and denim jackets, all pulled together by the belted waist. A vast amount of the looks screamed power suits with non-traditional complexity. Think 60s oversized power suits. Black pinstripe blazers with a fluttered high neck tops paired underneath with either a well-adjusted tie or pinned to breast lapel area, with contrasting stitching detail for a complementary finish.

MÜNN seeks to find high-end fabric and looks to make unique pieces that do not exist anywhere else. The accessories paired with every outfit proved this. The makeup was kept simple with only one colour appealing to all, burgundy. Burgundy lips were painted in a smudged manner and were paired with smoky eyes in the same colour. Apart from the eyes and lips, the makeup looked non-existent and naturally wry bushy eyebrows were present for all the models. Tasselled bowler hats and berets accompanied in the body of the outfits and set off every look.
