PREMIERE: MEL C – “HIGH HEELS”

Sporty Spice returns with a girl power anthem, featuring LGBTQ+ drag collective Sink The Pink.

If you missed your chance to see the Spice Girls reunite (sans Posh Spice, but still) on their tour this summer, fear not, because the iconic 90s girl power vibes are still out in full force with Mel C’s new single “High Heels”.

Yes, Sporty Spice is back, and in spectacular fashion. On the 20th anniversary of her debut solo album Northern Star, Mel C returns with a feel-good, self-love anthem, featuring London’s very own LGBTQ+ drag collective, Sink The Pink.

After a solo show with Sink The Pink at a series of Pride shows earlier this year, the Spice Girl and activist has been working alongside the inclusive collective ever since, with “High Heels” being released to the world in São Paolo – and Mel C wrapped in a rainbow flag.

“‘High Heels’ was inspired by the time I spent with my gorgeous friends at Sink The Pink”, Mel C explains. “From the first moment I set foot in their fantastic club, I was blown away by the warmth and inclusivity of the atmosphere that had been created. It was a place where anyone could be themselves, whomever they were, while feeling completely relaxed about being so. ‘High Heels’ is also frivolous riot of a song, encapsulating an amazing night out and everything that goes into getting yourself ready for it!”
