SCREEN WONDERS

Euphoria, Big Little Lies season 2, WHAT/IF: here are all the film and TV trailers to watch this week.

ANNA

There aren’t many actresses that can say they’ve also walked for major fashion houses of the likes of Louis Vuitton, Dior and Valentino, but Moscow-native Sasha Luss is changing the leading lady status quo. In the forthcoming assassin film directed by French legend Luc Besson, Luss trades the runway for the big screen as Anna Poliatova, a deadly government agent, with a glimmering supporting cast of Cillian Murphy, Helen Mirren and Luke Evans.

ANNA drops in the cinema on 5 July.

Big Little Lies S2

A couple of years ago we were feverishly gripped by the secrets of the tranquil beachfront town of Monterey, developing an unhealthy obsession with frenemies Zoe Kravitz, Shailene Woodley, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern. It all went satisfyingly Pete Tong in the last episode and we’ve been waiting, not so patiently, for it to pick up again. This time with Meryl Streep in tow.

Big Little Lies season 2 will air on Sky Atlantic at 2am on 10 June.

Star Wars Episode IX

If having the force with you looks like Daisy Ridley doing a backflip over a space fighter, we want it. And in the new trailer for the latest instalment of the extensive Star Wars franchise we see the all-star cast back for the last of the Skywalker trilogy. Evil Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson and more. We’re ready.

Star Wars Episode IX drops in the cinema on 19 December.

Euphoria

Last summer, Drizzy dropped a trippy snippet teaser of actress Zendaya, tagging HBO and A24 (we stan) in the same post. The rumour mill swiftly went into overdrive and we learned that we were getting a Drake-produced 8-part series about a group of high school students. What can we expect? The show is based on an Israeli TV of the same name. So sex, drugs and even death.

Euphoria will drop on HBO on 16 June.

WHAT/IF

We’re not going to lie, if it’s not Bridget Jones-related, it’s going to be a tricky sell. But Renée Zellweger slinking around a private dinner party looking all levels of goddess, and offering to make you an offer “too extraordinary to refuse?” Into. It. The new mysterious 10-part Netflix series follows what happens when a woman makes an unusual offer to a strapped-for-money San Fran couple.

WHAT/IF will drop on Netflix on 24 May.
