You’d have had to be living on another planet to escape Game of Thrones chat this week. From re-caps and wild predictions to rushed catch-ups and frenzied countdowns (three days, people), hype for the show’s final season has been edging towards breaking point. But just when we thought we couldn’t handle any more anticipation, HBO have announced a soundtrack inspired by the season – and it’s already looking like a strong contender for album of the year.

Set for release on 26 April, For The Throne will include tracks from a host of artists including A$AP Rocky, Travis Scott, The Weekend, The National, SZA, Joey Bada$$, Lennon Stella, Lil Peep, Maren Morris, Matthew Bellamy, Rosalía featuring A. Chal, The Lumineers, Ty Dolla $ign, X Ambassadors, Mumford & Sons, Ellie Goulding, Chloe x Halle and Jacob Banks.
