PREMIERE: NO ROME – “SEVENTEEN”

Our latest Dirty Hit fave releases the visuals to his newest slice of pop perfection.

Like, seriously, when will Dirty Hit stop signing absolute babes? Hopefully never, because one of their latest newbies No Rome is fast shooting to the top of our list of our DH faves. (Release the albums soon please 1975 and Pale Waves or you’re facing relegation, just sayin’.)

Dropping his first single with the label last month, the pink-haired pop master fully got our attention with the glittering alt-pop number “Do It Again”, produced by the equally bright-haired-babe Matty Healy.

And now the Manila-born innovator is back with another certified bop “Seventeen”, taken from his upcoming debut EP “RIP Indo Hisashi”. Talking on the track, he says: “‘Seventeen’ is an attempt to encapsulate the feeling of being young forever – a reality that sadly cannot be achieved. It’s a song about the endless melancholy of being young and in love. It’s about wishing it was as easy as it used to be; exploring a time when all that mattered was the failures of romance and the wonders of coming of age. No matter what age you are, ‘Seventeen’ is a reflection on living in the moment, rather than always reaching for the end point of who you are right now.”

Releasing the accompanying visuals today, the vid expertly shows off No Rome’s unique eye for captivating fashion and art with a twist on the conventional “lyric video”. An absolutely beaut vid, it’s got everything you could ever want: flowers, flashing lights, and an astronaut outfit. Take a look now…
