KENZO: YO! MY SAINT

The brand taps Karen O and Ana Lily Amirpour for its latest artistic endeavour.

Last season the French house gave Natasha Lyonne a platform to showcase her directing talents – and prior to that The Florida Project’s Sean Baker and Beyoncé collaborator Kahlil Joseph all made a dent in the director’s chair – now Kenzo has tapped the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O and Ana Lily Amirpour to pick up the artistic baton. And we couldn’t be more into it.

While director Amirpour (think 2014’s indie A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night and think major), leads the film short, Yo! MY SAINT is described as “a three-pronged artistic endeavour incorporating music, film, and fashion”: enter the iconic frontwoman and the latest collection from creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim.

“Humberto and I are technically the producers,” explains Lim of the project’s key offering. “The beautiful part about this is it’s two women that decided to make a film together. It’s an amazing artistic endeavour and a conversation between two women. A female musician and a female director. That’s kind of the starting point of this. We’re so excited for it to finally come out.” Likewise. Catch the nine minute film here, now.
