Turning his attention to moving picture several campaigns ago, Alasdair McLellan’s latest output for Miu Miu is an absolute joy to behold. Marrying Miuccia’s glistening Croisiere 2018 collection with The Teenagers’ cheeky noughties track, “Homecoming”, and France’s Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry? Properly magnifique through McLellan’s lens.

A crisp retelling of traditionally masculine motifs – bad boy racers anyone? – the short sees Miu Miu fave Elle Fanning hanging out with a girl gang of our fave model faces – Joan Smalls and Slick Woods amongst them. Chilling on the sidelines, playing with tyres and riding in a rainbow fleet of seriously dreamy vehicles, this, as the accompanying press notes allude, is the Miu Miu Club for car enthusiast girls.

Tapping into the aesthetics of a culture that inspired the line-up featured, here jumpsuits and jackets boast the respective roadside patches while elsewhere tops do a subtle job of infusing the racetrack theme via prints and patterns; sunglasses come goggle inspired and rhinestones are king. All I wanted was a car they say. And some Miu Miu garms, we might add.
