DIOR TAPS JENNIFER LAWRENCE

Hollywood’s golden girl fronts the house’s cruise 18 campaign.

Everyone’s favourite totally relatable pizza eating celebrity Jennifer Lawrence, has had a busy summer. Between prepping for the release of her new film Mother! and posing for oil paintings (a completely normal task that was required for her American Vogue cover), it’s amazing that J. Law had time for anything else, but, as always, wonder woman has done it again. Fronting Dior’s new cruise campaign, she takes us on a trip to the desert for a series of muted visuals shot by Brigette Lacombe.

Embodying Maria Grazia Chiuri’s vision for the collection, the images were influenced by the work of artist Georgia O’Keefe, intertwining the fashion house’s brand of fearless femininity with the organic tones of nature that frame Lawrence’s self-assured poise. As she effortlessly slouches against the wall, the brand’s long dresses styled with hats, headscarves (and bracelets that look suspiciously like festival wristbands) invoke serious Coachella vibes.

Elegance without fuss, the images, alongside Chiuri’s collection, present a fresh take on summertime dressing. Not a single floral in sight, the masculine details in the styling reinforce the power behind Lawrence’s gaze and, to be honest, we’re captivated. As the campaign sets the tone for 2018, prepare to see the masses sport this look next summer.
