STORMZY’S LONDON BUS TOUR

A ride on Stormzy’s custom built bus? SHUT UP!

There aren’t many people that can say they’ve been taken on a two-hour bus ride across London by the city’s own king of grime, Stormzy (Maya Jama, maybe, but even then, two hours?). For 40 hardcore fans though, that’s exactly how Saturday was spent.

In collaboration with JD Sports and adidas, the lucky ones were invited onto Stomzy’s custom built bus to spend some quality one-on-one time with the MOBO-winning rapper, visiting his fave spots across the capital. Boarding at Brixton Academy – the location of his three sold-out shows earlier this year – Stormzy also invited MC Chip, comedians Michael Dapaah and Mo the Comedian plus his sister, DJ Rachael Anson, along for the ride. After crossing Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square, the grime mobile rolled up on Oxford Street, where, holding traffic at a standstill, Stormzy hopped off to run into JD Sports and pick up some sneakers for his passengers – not your average TFL service, right?

As if the resulting FOMO wasn’t enough, the day was rounded off by an intimate surprise gig at the Postal Museum, home of London’s Mail Rail underground tunnels. “I love my fans and love my city, so I wanted to bring the two together,” the rapper later explained of the day. “The EQT campaign is all about street style, so we shut down London’s streets with some of my biggest supporters and closest friends. Big up adidas and JD Sports for a crazy day!”

Those trips on the 158 will never feel the same again.
