Playlist: MYBADD

The producer-turned-artist takes us through his fave songs.

Having dropped his debut track, “Party On A Weekday” featuring Olivia Holt, earlier this month, MYBADD is making his claim as one of the most exciting producers on the scene. Real name Jamie Haj, he turned down a place at the prestigious Slade Art College to pursue his dream in music production. With that decision paying off, MYBADD has become the first artist to sign on HOT HOT RECORDS and is set to become the next big thing.

Making the most of him before he blows up and becomes way too hard to contact, we asked MYBADD to put together a playlist for us with all the songs he loves. Full of absolute bangers, sit back, have a listen and dive into the musical mind of your new fave producer.

Calvin Harris – “Heatstroke” feat. Young Thug, Pharrell and Ariana Grande

I thought I was into Calvin’s other track “Slide” until I heard this…. its such a jam!

Zedd, Alessia Cara – “Stay”

I’ve got a lot of love for Zedd and it’s good to hear him switch up his production style. Alessia’s vocals are super strong and I’ll admit this is a bit of a guilty pleasure!

Bruno Mars – “That’s What I Like”

Such a throwback, I love the beat in this and I think it brings out the drummer in me.

Jonas Blue – “By Your Side” feat. Raye

I like this song as a modern take on a love song, the Abbey Road version proves that at its core it’s just a really well written song. I’m also a fan of Grace Barker who wrote the track with Jonas and we’ve been working on some stuff together too.

Kideko & George Kwali – “Crank It (Woah!)” feat. Nadia Rose and Sweetie Irie

Kideko is a good mate of mine and I’ve worked with him and George down in Brighton. It’s a great track and takes centre stage in my workout playlist!

Kanye West – “Coldest Winter”

I really connected with the album 808’s and Heartbreak, but this song was my favourite and I love the minimalistic production on this track in particular.

Jax Jones – “You Don’t Know Me” feat. Raye

I love that Jax just does this thing and popped up with this stealth hit at the start of the year. It’s a tune.

The Chainsmokers and Coldplay – “Something Just Like This”

This collaboration was never going to go too far wrong. It’s cool to hear an incredible songwriter like Chris Martin join forces with these guys and create something that just works on all levels.

Tears For Fears – “Shout”

A golden oldie… when I was a kid my dad would play Tears For Fears during the school run. I’m pretty sure as an 11-year-old kid it lit the spark that would lead me to producing the music I do today.
