Carmen Rosa – “Give Me Love”

Carmen Rosa has just released the second song from her debut EP, “Wild One”, which is out on 9th May. Carmen describes the beautiful piano ballad as, “about the simple desire to be loved by a person who is too afraid to truly love you back. Or that maybe you’re both too afraid to admit that the relationship would not survive without the self destruction and drama.” The incredible accompanying video features Swim Deep’s Austin Williams as his drag alter-ego, Ginger George, and was directed by Bella Howard. Cinematic and captivating, the video reflects the striking excellence of the song, and we can’t wait to hear more.

Mac DeMarco – “On The Level”

Mac DeMarco has given us yet another teaser of upcoming album, This Old Dog, with newest offering “On The Level”. Fuzzy and funky, Mac says of the track, “This record has a lot to do with my family and my life right now and the way I’m feeling. One of the main goals for this record was trying to make sure I retained some kind of realness. That’s the bottom line.” Following “This Old Dog” and “My Old Man”, we’re almost too excited for the 5th May album release now.

Speaking on the track, CAT explains, “Weapon of War is about leaving an abusive relationship and learning to trust someone new after going through that trauma. There’s a certain shame that comes on after abuse. People wonder if it’s their fault or if they are worthy of love. It’s about the beauty that can happen in the healing of the pain.” Poignant and powerful, the track is spine-tingling and stunning, and we can’t get enough.
