“I wanted a particular type of groove for this EP. The drums needed to be just off the grid in the style of Quest Love and his playing with D’Angelo, who is a big musical influence. Investigating new ideas and influences like this developed the production style and helped to free me up in a lot of ways.”

This is how Floor Staff, aka Anthony Donnelly, describes his upcoming EP, “Convictions”. Following on from his critically acclaimed first release “The Good Luck EP”, he describes how his follow up wasn’t as easy going to make as his first as he wanted to express feelings more difficult to access. But he persevered, and what this resulted in is a deeply personal and delightful pop sound from the Dublin based songwriter and producer. Floor Staff takes topics including bereavement, fidelity and self esteem and transforms them into beautiful pop melodies. Set to be released on 17th March, we’ve scooped a teaser in the form of track “Saviour”. It’s a chilled out dreamy pop tune, full of soaring synth beats and rich vocals; a stunning track and an exciting glimpse of what’s to come.
