Gucci and photographer Glen Luchford unite man and beast to create a daring and delicious campaign for the label’s SS17 collection. Inspired as an ode to the generations of intellectuals and artists that considered Rome to be home (the brand’s Italian roots are something that Gucci always keeps close to it’s heart), the campaign is a dynamic portrayal of colourful characters roaming alongside tigers, lions and giraffes.

Mirroring the SS17 collection itself, the campaign celebrates the eccentric, the surreal and the downright bizarre, creating bold and bright looks that are as classically Gucci as they are forward-thinking. Looking towards generations of intellectuals and artists that flocked the streets of Rome (considering the ancient city home through both birth and cultural adoption), including Cy Twombly, Mario Schifano and Laura Betti, the campaign is an unconventional celebration of the electric spirit of Rome and the Italian heritage that inspires the brand.
