A duo that write and produce all their own material is quite hard to come by, but Temptress aren’t ones to stick to the rules. Creating inventive, unique and sophisticated sounds, that walk the line between R&B and pop, they are brimming with passion and a desire to make something unheard. The pulsing energy that runs through their two releases and slick and the clean production make it seem like the writing process was completely effortless, but maybe that’s just the duo’s raw talent. Creating sounds that fuse electronic elements with classic pop and R&B, Temptress are creating a fresh urban sound that’s desperately needed.

The London-based duo’s second single release, “Guilty Pleasure”, is an intricately layered, dramatically written track. Lyrics like “So consumed/I want you off my mind” make for a highly, but happy, emotive song. The duo says “Guilty Pleasure is about being addicted to a secret; it’s about a casual fling that is suddenly serious; feelings of regret turn to euphoria; a desperate need to unload your obsession onto someone without knowing why.” With the pair harmonising vocals over a solidly flowing bassline while instruments and synths are layered over each other and rise and fall with the chorus, “Guilty Pleasure” is one pleasure you won’t be keeping secret.
