Hackney Walk × The Stitch Academy Workshops

Get involved with Hackney Walk and The Stitch Academy’s summer masterclasses, workshops and talks from fashion’s greats, curated by Louby McLoughlin.

You’ve always wanted to learn some fashion-based skills from the pros, right? Here’s your chance: Hackney Walk, one of our favourite designer luxury outlet shopping areas in London, presents The Stitch Academy’s summer workshops, talks and masterclasses. Curated by stylist Louby McLoughlin, the workshops will be led by some of London’s most exciting talents in the fashion industry. Running for five consecutive weekends from 23 July, these are some classes you won’t want to skip.

Kicking off the summer workshops is British menswear designer Katie Eary, who will be chatting about her fashion design and print-making skills while giving you one-on-one attention to help you make your own garment. Mary Benson, formerly of Alexander McQueen and Richard Nicoll, will give you the low-down on everything to do with print-making, while fashion’s darling Henry Holland will be putting on a talk followed up by a Q&A where you get to ask him anything and everything you’ve ever wanted to know about running a fashion brand.

There’s a competition for those who attend Sophia Webster’s shoe design tutorial, and a creative hair colour masterclass from follicle oracle Alex Brownsell, who owns cult-salon BLEACH London. Sharmadean Reid, who founded WAH Nails, will be on hand to show you how to paint nails and do all those amazing nail art tricks you’ve attempted but never quite get right, while womenswear designer Holly Fulton will be giving you a jewellery making workshop. The girls behind The Mushpit will even teach you how to make your own zine.

Louby McLoughlin said of the masterclasses: “I am thrilled to be working in collaboration with Hackney Walk to create and provide free fashion workshops. I’m excited to be given the chance to give something back to Hackney, a place where I have been fortunate enough to make opportunities for myself and grow a business. I am joined by an amazing line up of some of fashion’s most exciting talents.” Sign us up now.
