Master distillers Sailor Jerry aren’t just good for their complex and delicious spiced rum, they also know a thing or two about motorbikes. Don’t worry, we’re not talking about drinking and riding (never a good idea, by the way), but rather a fairly epic, cross-country bike race involving some of the UK’s finest bike crews. From our local team, Hackney Wick’s Kingdom of Kicks, to Wales’ FTHaters and, of course, The Ride Originals – defending their 2015 title – these guys are motorcycling enthusiast with the prerequisite beards to match.

Don’t believe us? Well check out the video above which follows last year’s winners, The Ride Originals, as they prep for the upcoming event which (though shrouded in mystery) will involve an action packed schedule of hard-hitting challenges that will no doubt put these grease monkeys through their paces. Having customised a brand new Harley-Davidson Street Bob, each team will then be tasked with making their way across the UK, undertaking Herculean feats that will include eating competitions (fun) and wearing their helmets for 24 hours straight (less fun…). By the 10th July, the winner will be crowned in glory and, one would imagine, a whole lot of that moreish Sailor Jerry.

Aside from backing the event, Sailor Jerry will also be capturing all the action in a series of videos airing across their own channels from 21st July. So, whether you’re a life-long biker or an armchair rider, you can tune in (preferably with a glass of rum) and enjoy the odyssey.
