Marks & Spencer × Kestin Hare

Marks & Spencer got together with Kestin Hare to sort you out for summer.

It’s fair to say that M&S are really killing it with the collaborations right now. Earlier this week the eagerly awaited Alexa Chung collection sold like hot, frilly, cakes, and now the high street kings are dropping the campaign images from their new collaboration with Scottish designer Kestin Hare. The former Head of Design at heritage big guns Nigel Cabourn, Hare founded his namesake brand last year, kicking things off with a showstopping AW15 collection that got him shortlisted for Scottish Designer of the Year 2015. Not a bad start, is it?

Known for quality fabrics, quirky prints, and a clean, classic aesthetic, Hare brings his well-considered design sensibilities to bear on this SS16 capsule collection for the nation’s favourite one stop shop. Suffice to say, Hare, with a little help from M&S’s in-house squad, has cooked up a chilled, vacation-ready line that’s heavy on European-made textiles, tropical, hand-drawn prints and relaxed summer vibes. From tailored shorts and breezy polos to safari shirts and a super tactile dobby blazer (for those chilled white wine, al fresco dining moments), the capsule has everything you need for a no nonsense warm weather wardrobe.

The third of M&S’s imaginatively named ‘M&S &’ series, the collaboration affirms Marks & Sparks as a true friend of British talent: thanks to their support Hare was able to open a Soho store, something he was understandably chuffed about, remarking, “I am delighted to be part of the ‘M&S &’ project, and to collaborate with a British brand with such a heritage in quality menswear. I have always loved Marks & Spencer, and coming together with their in house design team to create the exclusive summer collection which offers something new to the M&S customer, has been a fantastic experience.” Scott Fyfe, Menswear Trading Director of M&S, is also rightly proud of the capsule, and called Hare “a true craftsman”. We concur!
