PREMIERE: BRNS – “THE WAY UP”

The unique foursome release another beautiful video.

BRNS are a four piece coming out of Belgium and making the kind of genre-blurring music we love so much. After releasing their charged and moody debut album, Patine, last year (which included stand out songs like the heartfelt “My Head Is Into You”), the band returned earlier this year with their eminently listenable single “Many Chances”. The track’s video was an extended animation somewhere between niche children’s book and soft-psychedelic trip and it marked the group out as having a uniquely charming aesthetic and atmosphere to their work.

Now, we’re thrilled to exclusively premiere BRNS’ latest video, “The Way Up”: opening with a muffled voiceover that tells us, “everything takes time. And then time takes everything,” the video (directed by Sirus F Gahan) is a fairly epic, black and white visual feast full of strange occurrences just waiting to be speculated upon and unpicked. Why are there two shaven haired, tattooed men brawling outside a church? Why does the protagonist walk into the freezing sea and then dance with an intense fury? Why the angry dog? All valid questions that you may have more success answering than me. Either way, you’ll definitely love the track with its soaring falsetto and powerful guitar riffs: watch out for these guys.
