Creative Director Sarah Burton has taken McQ on a ride of reinvention for the Pre Spring 16 collection.
Taking subtle asymmetric shapes with a contemporary twist, the collection is modernism meet classic and then some more. The most obvious reinvention is the characteristic biker jacket, updated with PVC for a transparent look. Leather has been given a feminine touch in blushes of soft pink and folded to create statement silhouettes. Studs meet studs in co-ord dresses and jackets for the ultimate edgy look and gold hues make an dreamy appearance on a mini dress. The collection works collaboratively as a whole, with each piece simultaneously working as stand-alone pieces. No two textures are the same, with mirrored discs, ombre-surfaced shorts and laser-cut detailing, there’s something for every kind of McQ fan.
What are we taking from McQ, well, that classic will never die; it’s just having a major revamp.
