It’s not just about the big-guns. London Collections:Men may be around the corner but emerging talent deserves a platform too. Middlesex University is stepping up to the plate tomorrow at 5.30pm to unleash its next batch of promising design talent to the world.

Quality over quantity. The show, held at the Royal National Hotel, will consist of 19 carefully selected collections. A panel of industry professionals have sifted through the students’ work to create a tight and exciting line up with the hopes of discovering the next Christopher Raeburn or Boudicca, both alumni of the university. Rest assured, the experts are in the know – the team consists of Wonderland’s very own Fashion Director Matthew Josephs, Hunger’s Fashion Director Kim Howells, Creative Consultant at Diesel Keko Hainswheeler and Kiki Simoes Gaspar, who works in marketing and communications at Vivienne Westwood.

There’s something for everyone. The student showcase will present menswear and womenswear collections. Edging themselves ahead of the pack, a couple of talents have caught our eye and should be on your radar. It’s worth checking out Sarah Kate Holmes’  clothing for boys, which consist of a musky palette in oversized proportions, shopping basket backpacks and air masks filled with dollar bills. Ursula Catherine Middleboe’s womenswear line also ticks the boxes – delicate flower prints and geometric glass bags allude to a promising future for the student designer.
