Opening 2nd May at Three Squares Studio, Anouska Beckwith’s first New York solo exhibition features never-before-seen works.

Captured on her travels throughout Italy, Spain, Normandy, Ibiza, Paris and London, Anouska Beckwith’s first New York solo show, Transcendence (curated by Andi Potamkim), opens at the beginning of next month at Three Squares Studio. Seductively soft focused, the subjects are feminine and ethereal, overlayed with the cosmos. Concentrating on the human relationship with Mother Nature, the images are set amongst the “miraculous yet terrifying” natural world. Beckwith’s previous exhibitions follow in her practise of “vision quests” to seek out the most beautiful and significant locations.

Beckwith’s current muse, British singer, Flo Morrissey, is featured in pre-Raphaelite like compositions, using a motif of a butterfly and reworking the images with gold leaf. The images can be seen from 2nd May in New York and is the first of several planned solo projects, coming to London and Paris later this year.
