LFW: Temperley London AW15

In a glitz-heavy collection, Temperley London accompany dresses with with scarves and tie-string pouches. Boho is back, and this time it’s gone luxe.

Knitwear for Nighttime

We’ve watched the celebs shiver on the red carpet during awards season recently, but why did none of them think to do things the Temperley way? Put your best dress on and forget about the stilettos, your scarf is your new best friend. Thick knits, jewel-coloured floral embroidery, sequins or shining waterfalls of tassels, take your pick from this vamped up selection for understated cool.

Run for the Hills

Taking nomadic and tribal inspiration, the collection features a dazzling array of intricate patterns. They might not be wearing floor-length sequin pieces in small foot-hill settlements in the middle of nowhere, but you get the idea. Vibrant sunset oranges and turquoises the colour of the ocean are so alien to us naturally in Britain they seem other-worldly. Intricate embroidery looks so complicated it could be a family-trick passed down through generations in small communities. It’s probably not, no, but we’re but too swept up by the romanticism of it all to care. Pouch bags with fur embellishments and patterned metallic loafers are all we can think about right now.

Dressed to the Nines

Everything’s loose, but by no means undone. Tux jackets made an appearance along with men’s dinner scarves and there was a slick of metallic shine on just about everything. We usually stick to the philosophy that you should always dress your best, but in this case, if you’re lucky enough to ever own something from Temperley London AW15, you’re only allowed to wear it in a setting just as beautiful.
