PLAYLIST: ANJA SCHNEIDER – ‘FOUND NYE’

Broadcaster, producer and founder of Mobilee Records, Anja Schneider, has created us a playlist ahead of a headline appearance at Found’s NYE celebrations.

Anja Schneider

Found’s New Year’s Eve event at The Coronet, Elephant and Castle, is a relentless 10 hour dance music marathon. With appearances from Catz n Dogz, Josh Butler, wAFF, Sebo K, Cera Alba, Tough Love, The Menedez Brothers and of course, Anja, there’s something for everyone, whether you love bass, house, garage or even disco!

Here’s a taster of what Anja loves and inspires her, including everyone’s favourite goths, The Cure, and the ‘King of Soul’, Stevie Wonder. If this can’t tempt you to join the party on the 31st, we don’t know what will. Maybe have a think about whether you’d rather be in the midst of a buzzing crowd of 2800 or watching Hootenanny on the sofa at home. It’s up to you.

Little Dragon – ‘Ritual Union’

It’s an easy lovely light track to balance heavier moments. It always makes me feel lighter.

The Doors – ‘Touch Me’

Old time favourite. Nothing can beat The Doors and the sexiness of Jim Morrison. Pure sex!

Westbam & Richard Butler – ‘You Need The Drugs’

A record for all those moments that we have with someone special where we end up speechless and know that we cannot do anything to change the situation.

Arcade Fire – ‘Reflektor’

One of the bands nowadays who really touch me and I’m still angry I missed their concert.

Stevie Wonder – ‘Pastime Paradis’

Some people might say Stevie Wonder is cheesy but he’s definitely not – he is the King of Soul!

Kings of Convenience – ‘Mrs Cold’

I’m definitely in love with Erlend Øye, but he’s doing the best for me with Kings of Convenience. I guess he wrote Mrs Cold for me, even though I don’t know him 🙂

The Cure – ‘Lovesong’

That was definitely the introduction for me into dance music. This helped me through my first heart breaks and soundtracked my best times as a teenager.

Queens of the Stone Age – ‘If I Had A Tail’

I need this track when I’m angry! You will feel much better after hearing. It’s a mood changer!

The Velvet Underground & Nico – ‘I’ll Be Your Mirror’

Nothing needs to be said for Lou Reed, but Nico is coming from the same city as me, Cologne, so I always feel like I’m home when I hear it.

Moderat – ‘Bad Kingdom’

For me the best track of 2014 with an amazing video. Love these boys!

Anja Schneider’s ‘Jimmy’ EP is out now on Mobilee.
