Gifted with the task of closing Paris Fashion Week comes with a fair bit of pressure, after days and weeks of shows you have to make sure you’re memorable and Hedi Slimane did so with a bang.
Presenting his third collection for the house at Les Invalides, Slimane created the perfect wardrobe for the modern rock star, skinny drainpipe jeans, leather trousers, sequin leopard print jackets and lots and lots of sparkle.
The handful of jackets shimmered in bright greens and pinks contrasting with masculine tailoring. The silhouette was tight and fitted still but looser than Slimane’s previous collections, with large coats nonchalantly thrown over the top in fluffy hounds tooth and tartan prints. Shearling made another appearance.

Slimane attempts to merge music in to everything he does, from his clothing, his soundtrack and his models; an array of skinny indie musicians and street castings. For the soundtrack Hedi went with Californian garage band Froth, who Hedi happened to discover when walking in to a bar they were playing in. Unknown for know but they will no doubt become a big name thanks to Saint Laurent. A handful of the models came from alternative bands such as Rexx, Dr Skinnybones, The No No’s and Blurry Boys.
Hedi successfully injected an essence of glam rock to the last day of Paris Fashion Week.
