Take a look at Yeezy’s latest offering for A.P.C. 

Kanye West’s attempt at breaking in to the fashion industry hasn’t been a smooth one. Who can forget his spring/summer 2012 collection (with copious amounts of fox fur, leather and suede you just might die in the summer heat) that even left Ms Wintour herself lost for words, a rarity. Its been a known fact for years that the rap genius hearts fashion to crazy extents, sometimes bordering on obsessive so this must have been quite a blow to the self-proclaimed god.

Not one to admit defeat, Kanye’s recent collaborations with A.P.C however show that he has come a long way.  After becoming close friends with Jean Touitou, last season the pair worked on a modest collection of men’s staples such as denim jeans, hoodies and tees. The collection was a massive success and sold out within minutes. Kanye presented the six looks for AW14 to a small crowd at Paris Fashion Week, the collection this time around had a more experimental feel.

As he talked through each look Yeezy candidly revealed he’d wanted to study at Saint Martins, but Louise Wilson told him he was ‘too famous’ so he learnt about the industry through ‘style.com and Tommy Ton and shit like that’.
The collection featured double denim, wearable outerwear, cargo pants and knitted masks and balaclavas “for moments when I turn up at the airport and get photographed” of course. All paired with Timbalands.
Starting small, it seems Kanye is still progressing and learning when it comes to fashion but AW14 is def a step in the right direction for him, this collection will no doubt sell out instantaneously, just as his previous one did.
